Our next stop takes us to the oldest established black township in Cape Town, called Khayelitsha. The name is Xhosa for New Home.  Khayelitsha is the fastest growing township in South Africa. We visit a local project called ‘Golden Flowers’ and learn about a community empowerment project.

Our next stop will be a visit to Look Out Hill which is one of the major tourist attractions in Khayelitsha.

Here we’ll climb the wooden staircase leading to the top of this sand hill for a splendid view over Khayelitsha, the Cape Flats and Table Mountain in the distance.  You’ll get a spectacular 360 degree view of False Bay and three mountain ranges.

Our last stop will be 18 Gangster Museum.  It is the first of its kind in Cape Town. This innovative living museum aims to help South African youth to better understand the treacherous path that too manyyoungsters take into gangsterism and, ultimately, prison.  18 Gangster Museum seeks to offer a positive alternative. Here ex-offenders share their real-life experiences of gangsterism and prison and how they turned their lives around.
